Why battery claims mislead
Every earbud box promises "all-day battery". Very few deliver it once you turn on noise cancelling, take calls, and let them sit in a warm pocket. We wore five pairs for seven straight days to find out which ones survive an actual working day.
Manufacturer numbers are measured in a lab: moderate volume, AAC codec, noise cancelling off, and a fresh cell at room temperature. Change any one of those and the figure moves. In our tests the gap between the box and the bud averaged just over two and a half hours — enough to turn an evening commute into silence.
The best battery isn't the biggest number on the box — it's the one that never makes you think about charging.
How we tested
Each pair ran the same routine every day: two hours of music at 60% volume, one hour of video, forty minutes of calls, and idle wear in between. We logged the moment the low-battery chime fired, then measured how long the case took to return the buds to full.
The verdict
If you want one pair that genuinely survives a full working day with noise cancelling left on, the Aura Pro is the safe answer. If you spend more time on calls than playlists, the Pulse 2 earns its place.
